IKEA has released a smart version of one of its most iconic lamps, featuring seamless color transitions between hues rather than abrupt changes, signaling a stylish blend of design and smart lighting.
Scientists have developed a lamp and an in-ear device to aid sleep on the International Space Station (ISS). The lamp, synchronized to an individual's circadian rhythm, simulates a calming sunset in the evening and a morning sky in the morning. The in-ear device measures brain waves to determine sleep quality. These inventions aim to help astronauts adjust to the unique challenges of sleeping in space, where they experience 16 sunrises and sunsets every day and sleep floating, strapped to the wall. The research may also provide insights into sleep patterns on Earth.
