Scientists Discover Gut Triggers for MS in Mice
Scientists have identified two gut bacteria, Eisenbergiella tayi and Lachnoclostridium, that are more prevalent in twins with MS and, in mouse models, can trigger MS-like symptoms, suggesting a potential bacterial trigger for MS. However, these findings are preliminary, based on small sample sizes and animal studies, and require further research to confirm causation and explore therapeutic possibilities.
