IATSE Contract Talks Ongoing, No Deal Reached Yet
IATSE President Matt Loeb is hopeful that a deal will be reached soon with studios on new agreements for 23 local unions, covering about 70,000 crew workers nationwide. The union has been negotiating for three months on the Basic Agreement and the Area Standards Agreement, with talks set to resume on Monday. Key issues include wage increases, pension and health plan funding, rest periods, meal penalties, and AI-related job retraining and compensation. All contracts are set to expire on July 31.
