Korg introduces the NTS-1 mk2 and NTS-3 Kaoss Pad as additions to its Nu:Tekt line of DIY kits, offering updated features and effects. The NTS-1 mk2 features a more powerful processor, new oscillator types, effects, and an 18-key multitouch capacitive keyboard, while the NTS-3 Kaoss Pad provides a solderless DIY kit with 35 built-in effects, an X/Y pad, and the ability to load custom effects. Both devices are built on the LogueSDK and are set to be released in April and June, respectively, with pricing and additional details yet to be announced.
Korg announces updates to its virtual analog synthesizers with the KingKorg Neo featuring a new sound engine, 37-key form factor, and 16-band vocoder, while the MicroKorg 2 boasts a new sound engine, 2.8-inch color display, and built-in loop recorder. The KingKorg Neo is set to ship in February for $1,000, while the MicroKorg 2 is expected to hit the market in June with pricing yet to be announced.
Korg is set to unveil the PS-3300 FS, a full-scale reissue of the ultra-rare polyphonic analog synthesizer originally designed in 1977, at NAMM 2024. The new version will feature 49 keys and 49 voices, offering 147 synth voices, and will include modern additions such as patch memory and a dedicated librarian app. The prototype will be showcased at NAMM 2024, with availability and pricing details yet to be announced.
Korg has announced the Opsix mk II synthesizer, a refresh of its popular Opsix FM synthesizer, featuring a boost in polyphony to 64 voices, new sound components, analog-style filters, and a programmable step sequencer. The synthesizer is fully compatible with the original Opsix and integrates with Korg's dedicated software suite, offering full access to numerous sound libraries. Priced at $700, the Opsix mk II will be available in March, alongside other new products teased by Korg at NAMM 2024.
