
Simplified 2D Material Preparation Opens Doors for Materials Science
Researchers have developed a new method for producing 2D materials called kinetic in situ single-layer synthesis (KISS). The KISS method uses ultra-high vacuum conditions and an exceptionally flat and clean substrate to produce larger 2D materials than those produced with the conventional sticky tape method. The KISS method has the potential to revolutionize the production and study of 2D materials, particularly for materials sensitive to air, and could be adapted for large-scale production in the future.
