
Sri Lankan doctors remove record-breaking 1.8 pound kidney stone.
Doctors in Sri Lanka have removed the world's largest kidney stone weighing 1.76 pounds from a retired soldier, setting a new Guinness World Record. The stone measured 5.264 inches and was successfully removed through surgery at the Columbo Army Hospital. Kidney stones are hard deposits of minerals and salt that form inside the kidneys and can cause extreme pain if not treated in a timely manner.
