The Kansas women's basketball team advanced to the WNIT finals after a 61-36 win over Washington in front of a raucous home crowd at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks will face Columbia in the championship game on Saturday. Kansas coach Brandon Schneider praised the fans for their knowledge of the game and appreciation of defense. Senior guard Holly Kersgieter called the experience "emotional" and "pretty cool." Center Taiyanna Jackson set a new school record for blocks in a single season and became just the third player in KU women's basketball history to eclipse 200 blocks for a career.
