A Kane County Sheriff's deputy is in critical condition after their squad car was struck head-on by a pickup truck and trailer on Route 47 in Hampshire Township. The deputy was transported to the hospital, while at least one person from the truck was also taken to the hospital. Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.

One hiker was found dead and another is still missing in Buckskin Gulch, one of the most dangerous slot canyons in the US, located in Kane County, Utah. The Kane County Sheriff's Office was initially looking for three hikers who were reported overdue after entering the canyon on Monday morning. The search resumed for the missing hiker after breaking at 4 a.m. on Tuesday. In addition to this search, the sheriff's office said over the last 48 hours it has been sent out to rescue at least 10 other people from the same area. Flooding has been a major concern heading into the spring after the enormous snowpack the state has received this winter.
