Fatal Elephant Attack Claims American Tourist's Life on Zambian Safari
An American woman, Gail Mattson, was killed in a tragic elephant attack while on a safari in Zambia's Kafue National Park. The incident was captured on video, showing a bull elephant approaching the safari vehicle and rolling it several times. Mattson, a retired loan officer, was on a month-long vacation and described as adventurous and loved by everybody. Wilderness Safaris, the tour operator, expressed condolences and stated that the other tourists traveling with Mattson, also Americans, sustained minor injuries. The park, known for its iconic big animal species, is cooperating with authorities to investigate the incident.
