UK man pleads guilty to hijacking high-profile Twitter accounts

Joseph James O'Connor, a British man, has pleaded guilty to his role in the Twitter hack of over 130 accounts, including those of Joe Biden and Elon Musk, as well as stealing $794,000 in cryptocurrency. O'Connor and his hacking group used sim card swaps to break into social media accounts and threatened to release private images and information. O'Connor pleaded guilty to multiple counts of computer intrusion, extortion, stalking, wire fraud, and money laundering, and faces up to 20 years in prison.
