Joe Schilling cleared of charges in bar incident using Stand Your Ground law.
Former Bellator MMA fighter Joe Schilling acted in self-defense during a 2021 incident at a bar in Fort Lauderdale, according to a recent ruling by a Florida court. Schilling is now immune from a lawsuit over allegations of battery and negligence from the incident. The court found that Schilling used only necessary force to neutralize the threat and is entitled to an award of reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, compensation for loss of income, and all expenses incurred in defense of the action.
