Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey, the nation's first openly gay governor, has announced his intention to re-enter politics by running for the mayor's office in Jersey City in 2025. McGreevey, who resigned in 2004 after revealing his extramarital affair with a male staffer, has since focused on criminal justice reform through his organization, the New Jersey Reentry Corporation.
