Multiple Defendants Plead Guilty in Connection to Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

A Rhode Island man, William Cotton, has reached a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in connection to the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Cotton will plead guilty to one count of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building, with three other charges being dropped. He faces up to six months in prison but may receive probation instead. Cotton was seen in surveillance footage entering the Capitol during the attack. Two other individuals from Rhode Island have also been charged in connection to the attack.
