Casey White, an Alabama inmate who escaped jail with the help of a jail official who later committed suicide, has been sentenced to life in prison. White pleaded guilty to escape in exchange for a felony murder charge involving the jail official's death being dropped. He agreed to the maximum sentence of life without parole. White and the jail official were on the run for 11 days before being caught. Investigators later found out that the jail official gave White special treatment due to their alleged romantic relationship. White still faces a capital murder trial for a 2015 slaying.
