Alabama Inmate Casey White Receives Life Sentence for Jail Escape with Official's Help

Alabama inmate Casey White, who escaped prison with the help of a jail official who later died by suicide, has been sentenced to life in prison. White apologized for the escape and said the jail official was the first person who cared about him in six years. He pleaded guilty to escape in exchange for prosecutors dropping a felony murder charge involving the jail official's death. White still faces a capital murder trial for the 2015 slaying of Connie Ridgeway.
