Hepatitis A Outbreak at Pine Knob Concerts Confirmed
Health officials have confirmed a case of hepatitis A associated with the Ivy Lounge at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Pontiac, Michigan. Guests who consumed food at the Ivy Lounge between August 26 and September 8 are advised to monitor for symptoms. Those who attended the Jason Aldean concert on September 8 still have time to get vaccinated before September 23. Symptoms of hepatitis A include abdominal pain, fatigue, diarrhea, and yellowing of the skin and eyes. The virus is most commonly spread through contaminated hands, so frequent handwashing is recommended to reduce the risk of contracting the disease.
