Witnesses in Jan. 6 Probe Strike Immunity Deals in Fake Electors Scheme
The Justice Department's probe into former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election and his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot has reportedly traded partial immunity for the testimony of two fake electors. Special Counsel Jack Smith's office has also sought to compel the testimony of various individuals involved in the plans, including Trump allies Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, and Jefferey Clark. It remains unclear if Trump will be indicted in the probe, but he was recently arrested and arraigned on 37 federal charges related to hoarding classified documents.
