Disney Imagineers have unveiled the animatronic Tiana character for the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction at U.S. parks, featuring a classic, fully animatronic design reminiscent of traditional Disney rides. Originally set for "Winter 2024," the attraction's opening has been moved up to Summer. The new attraction, based on The Princess and the Frog, aims to pay homage to the history and heritage of New Orleans, featuring Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis during Mardi Gras season as they prepare to host a celebration for the people of New Orleans.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure receives a towering upgrade at Disney.

The Tiana’s Foods water tower has been installed at the former site of Splash Mountain, which is being transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The ride will feature 17 new characters, including Prince Naveen’s younger brother, Ralphie. The Splash Mountain track will remain, but the attraction will get new set dressing and audio-animatronics. The queue and attraction music is being arranged by award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard, who will mix classic songs from the movie with New Orleans classics and original compositions. Some of the original cast will be providing their voices to the attraction.

Disney scraps $1bn Florida campus amid political dispute.

Disney cancels plans to build a $1bn corporate campus in Florida that would have housed 2,000 employees amid its ongoing legal battle with Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis. The company was expected to spend as much as $864m on the project, for a campus that would have served as a base for Walt Disney Imagineering and the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division. Disney’s decision to move the California-based Imagineering staffers across the country drew complaints from employees, many of whom said they did not want to move to Florida.

Disney Cancels $1 Billion Florida Campus and Employee Relocation Plan.

Disney has cancelled a $1bn office complex in Orlando, which would have created over 2,000 jobs, due to "changing business conditions". The project would have involved the relocation of over 1,000 employees from Southern California, including most of a department known as Imagineering. The company's battle with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his allies in the Florida Legislature was a factor in the decision to cancel the project. Disney and DeSantis have been sparring for over a year over a special tax district that encompasses Disney World.
