Phase 1 of the $150 million Kennedy Expressway rehabilitation project in Chicago has concluded, bringing temporary relief to motorists. Phase 2, set to begin in spring 2024, will focus on the closure and rehabilitation of the reversible express lanes, installation of LED lights in the "Hubbard's Cave" tunnel, and painting and pavement patching along the expressway. Phase 3, starting in spring 2025, will involve finishing touches on the outbound side, including lane closures, installation of LED lights, painting, and signage in "Hubbard's Cave." The entire project is expected to be completed by late fall 2025.
