Maine Authorities Arrest 3, Seize 4,700 Marijuana Plants in Illegal Grow Bust
Police in Maine seized over 4,700 marijuana plants and arrested three individuals from New York for trafficking in scheduled drugs and cultivating marijuana at an illegal grow site in Somerset County. This was the third search in two weeks related to suspected illegal marijuana cultivation. The suspects, aged between 56 and 61, have posted bail after being booked into the Somerset County Jail. The ongoing investigation has also led to the seizure of over 1,900 live plants and over 60 pounds of marijuana in previous searches, with no arrests made. Despite the legalization of cannabis in Maine, authorities continue to crack down on illegal cultivation operations.
