King Charles III will ride in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, a 21st-century design made of aluminum and equipped with hydraulic suspension, air conditioning, and electric windows. The carriage weighs 2.75 tons and will ensure a smooth ride for the monarch. However, King Charles will ride back to the palace in the Gold State Coach, which was built in 1762 and has been used in every British coronation since 1831.
