"Oxford's Human Trial for Nipah Virus Vaccine Shows Promise"
The University of Oxford has initiated human testing of an experimental vaccine for the Nipah virus, which has caused outbreaks in various parts of Asia. The vaccine, based on the same technology as the AstraZeneca and Serum Institute of India's COVID-19 shots, is being tested for safety and immune response in people aged 18 to 55 years. The trial, funded by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), aims to develop tools to protect against the deadly virus, which has a high fatality rate.
