Mets Hall of Fame Welcomes New Inductees and Honors Broadcast Legends.
Al Leiter, former pitcher for the New York Mets, was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame along with former third baseman Howard Johnson and broadcasters Gary Cohen and Howie Rose. During the ceremony, Leiter's son Jack surprised him by catching his ceremonial first pitch. Leiter reflected on his time with the Mets and how special it was to play for the team he grew up rooting for. Johnson, a member of the Mets' 1986 championship team, also spoke about the honor of being inducted.
