Ruth DiRienzo-Whitehead, a mother from Horsham Township, Pennsylvania, has been charged with first-degree and third-degree murder after her 11-year-old son was found dead in their home. The boy had signs of strangulation, and an autopsy ruled the cause of death as "ligature strangulation." DiRienzo-Whitehead was taken into custody by Wildwood Crest police after her SUV was found partially submerged in the ocean off Beach Avenue in Cape May, more than 120 miles away from their Horsham home.

A mother is in custody after her 11-year-old son was found dead in Horsham Township, Pennsylvania. The father reported that the child was found dead inside the master bedroom, where he allegedly spent the night with his mother. The mother was later found in New Jersey after her car was spotted partially submerged in the ocean. The cause of death and charges are unknown at this time.
