Mother charged with murdering 11-year-old son in PA and driving car into ocean in NJ.

A 50-year-old Pennsylvania woman, Ruth DiRienzo-Whitehead, has been charged with murdering her 11-year-old son, Matthew, as he slept in her bed. She then drove her car into the ocean at Cape May beach until it was inoperable. The boy's father found him dead in the master bedroom, and the mother's car was missing. The cause of death was determined to be ligature strangulation by homicide. DiRienzo-Whitehead is being held in Cape May County as she awaits extradition to Montgomery County for murder charges.
