Sony is suing Tencent in California for allegedly creating a game, Light of Motiram, that is a near-identical clone of its Horizon series, claiming copyright and trademark infringement and that Tencent continued development secretly after initial rejection and informal resolution attempts.
The Horizon franchise, consisting of Horizon Zero Dawn, its Frozen Wilds expansion, Horizon Forbidden West, Burning Shores expansion, and Horizon Call of the Mountain, has sold over 32.7 million units worldwide, with Forbidden West selling over 8.4 million units. Guerrilla studio director Jan-Bart van Beek expressed gratitude to the community for their support and teased where Aloy will go next.
