OBS Studio 29.1 Enables AV1/HEVC Streaming and Encoding.

OBS Studio 29.1 has been released with support for AV1 and HEVC RTMP streaming to YouTube. The update also includes support for multiple audio tracks, surround sound for AJA capture cards, lossless audio recording options, and AMD AV1 video encoder support. Linux users can also benefit from HEVC and HDR support with the VA-API encoder.

OBS Studio 29.1 now supports AV1 and HEVC streaming via RTMP, allowing gamers and creators to stream their content to YouTube using these newer video formats. This new code in OBS Studio, paired with modern GPUs handling real-time AV1 encoding, enables streamers to make use of AV1 or HEVC for RTMP ingestion to YouTube.
