Bronco Mendenhall, a veteran head coach with a track record of turning around struggling programs, has been named the head football coach at The University of New Mexico. Mendenhall previously served as the defensive coordinator and associate head coach for the Lobos from 1998-2002. He later became the head coach at BYU, where he led the team to multiple bowl games and conference titles. Mendenhall then took over the Virginia Cavaliers, leading them to their first Coastal Division Championship and ACC Championship game appearance. He has a career record of 135-81 and has consistently produced bowl-eligible teams.

Jonathan Smith, the head coach of Oregon State University's football team, has been named the new head football coach at Michigan State University. Smith, who has led Oregon State to success over the past six seasons, will be introduced at a press conference on campus next week.
