Syria's New Interim PM Urges Stability Amid Rebel Advances
Mohammed al-Bashir, appointed as the prime minister of Syria's new transitional government by Hayat Tahir al-Sham (HTS), has called for stability and calm following the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad. Bashir, previously the head of the rebel administration in the north-west, is tasked with governing until March 2025. He chaired a meeting in Damascus to discuss the transition of power with members of both the new and former governments.
