Haryana Implements Stringent Measures Ahead of Farmers' March
Authorities in Haryana are preparing to block farmers' march to Delhi with cement barricades, iron nails, and heavy police deployment, as farmers plan to press the Centre to accept their demands. The borders with Punjab have been sealed, section 144 imposed in many districts, and mobile internet services suspended in seven districts. More than 200 farmer unions are expected to begin the march on February 13 over demands including a law guaranteeing minimum support price for crops, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations, and justice for victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
