FEC expert says Trump's Stormy Daniels settlement didn't violate campaign law.
Former President Donald Trump may face indictment by the Manhattan district attorney's office for alleged hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign. However, legal expert and former member of the Federal Election Commission, Hans von Spakovsky, argues that the Manhattan DA's office is "way off base" if the charges are based on a supposed violation of federal campaign finance law. Von Spakovsky explains that such cases fall under the jurisdiction of the FEC or the U.S. Justice Department, both of which have known about the facts for years but have chosen not to prosecute Trump.
