Elderly White Homeowner Pleads Not Guilty in Shooting of Black Teen Ralph Yarl

An 84-year-old white homeowner, Andrew Lester, pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action after shooting a Black teenager, Ralph Yarl, who mistakenly came to his Kansas City home. "Florida Implements New Laws on Guns, Immigration, and School Safety"

Tampa International Airport warns travelers that bringing a gun through a checkpoint is still a crime, even with a permit, and could result in up to 60 days in jail, a $500 fine, and up to six months probation. The airport has seen a 26% increase in gun seizures from January to June, and fines for those caught with a weapon at the checkpoint can go up to $14,950 for the first offense. TSA Federal Security Director Kirk Skinner advises travelers to check their belongings to make sure there is no firearm in there.
