The Shanghai F1 track's unusual appearance, resembling a painted surface, has raised concerns among drivers and teams about its impact on grip and tyre performance. The track has actually undergone a bitumen surface treatment, which could lead to varied levels of grip and potential challenges for teams during the limited practice time before sprint qualifying. While the treatment may not cause chaos like in Turkey 2020, it could influence tyre behavior, with teams uncertain about potential graining or degradation issues throughout the weekend.

A test conducted by Tyre Reviews found that the debate between wider and narrower winter tires is largely inconsequential. While there were slight differences in acceleration, braking, and lap times, the variances were so minimal that they would likely go unnoticed by the average driver. The study concluded that the choice of a good winter tire brand is more important than the specific tire size.

A test conducted by Tyre Reviews compared the performance of winter tires of varying widths on the same car. While the narrowest tire had the advantage of extra sidewall comfort, the data showed that the second-narrowest tire performed the best overall. However, the differences in performance were small, suggesting that tire compound and tread pattern have a greater impact on winter performance than tire width.

The resurfaced track at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for the F1 Miami Grand Prix has been causing issues for drivers due to its unique surface. While Pirelli found that grip levels on the racing line were not so bad, the lack of grip off-line caused drivers to struggle with controlling their cars. The increase in grip caused its own problem because the improvement was only on the racing line. Water blasting circuits brings benefits in terms of grip because it removes the top layer of bitumen, but Miami shied away from full water blasting because of the problems that occurred last year.
