"Unveiling the Tipping Point: The Irreversible Melting of Greenland's Ice Cap"

Scientists have determined that the threshold for irreversible melting of the Greenland ice cap, a major contributor to rising sea levels, is between 1.7C and 2.3C above pre-industrial levels. With global temperatures projected to rise by up to 3C this century, we are dangerously close to this tipping point. While there is time to adapt, if temperatures were to be reduced back to 1.5C, the melting would eventually stop. However, by that time, sea levels would already be 2 or 3 meters higher than they are now.
