The GeForce RTX 4060 series has overtaken the RTX 3060 series in the South Korean market, with the RTX 4060Ti cards gaining significant popularity in just two months. The decline in sales for the RTX 3060 series is attributed to a price shift and the release of new RTX 40 models, which were well-received by the gaming community. Specific custom models like ZOTAC Twin Edge and Emtek (Palit) Storm X OC have led in market share, and the report also highlights sales trends for other NVIDIA GPUs in South Korea.
After a tumultuous period of scarce availability and inflated prices, GPU sales are showing signs of stabilization. According to Jon Peddie Research, GPU shipments have returned to quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year growth, indicating a positive trend for the graphics industry. Overall GPU unit shipments, including integrated and dedicated GPUs, have increased by 16.8% from Q2 and 36.6% from a year ago. Nvidia and AMD have also reported revenue growth in their gaming divisions. However, the market for current-generation GPUs below $200 remains limited, and high-end GPUs still command high prices.
The RTX 4060 Ti and RX 7600 GPUs have reportedly received a poor reception on their launch day on MindFactory, with only around 30 units of each sold in the first 12-14 hours. This is in contrast to the RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070, which sold around 400-450 and 315 units respectively. The slow sales are likely due to the lack of significant generational improvements in the RTX 4060 Ti and RX 7600, and it remains to be seen if this trend will continue.
