Doctors Advised to Screen for Cancer in Men with Common Aging Symptoms
A recent study suggests that doctors should prioritize cancer screening in men aged 70 and over who report fatigue, as cancer is one of the top four diseases associated with this symptom in older men. The study, published in the British Journal of General Practice, analyzed 237 diseases and found that cancer poses a significant risk in men with fatigue, ranking fourth in excess risk for men aged 80. The research highlights the importance of early detection and tailored medical advice for unusual symptoms, particularly in older men.
