Google's Martin Splitt addressed how Googlebot handles the increase in AI generated content during a webinar. He explained that Google uses quality detection at multiple stages to determine the quality of webpages, regardless of whether they are generated by humans or AI. If a webpage is deemed low quality before rendering, Google may skip the rendering process. While AI may increase the scale of content, it doesn't significantly change Google's approach to rendering.

Google has added a new user agent named Google-InspectionTool to its list of Google crawlers. It mimics Googlebot and is used by search testing tools such as the Rich Result Test and URL inspection in Search Console. The user agent tokens for this are Google-InspectionTool and Googlebot, and it has two full user agent strings for desktop and mobile. The update is now complete, according to John Mueller from Google.
