Rare Super Mario World Prototype Map Unearthed
A prototype map from Super Mario World, developed in 1989, has been fixed and shared online by a hacker and researcher. The map, known as Map-B, was much closer in style to Super Mario Bros. 3's layout, with numbers representing the levels rather than the big glowing dots we associate with the SNES game. The map is purely a graphics layout file, and there's no level data inside it. This discovery is a hugely important recreation and a piece of gaming history.
