The Cannes Directors' Fortnight, now known as Quinzaine des Cinéastes, has announced its 55th edition selection, featuring 20 features and 10 shorts. The festival's new Delegate General, Julien Rejl, has curated an eclectic selection that includes Michel Gondry's first feature in seven years, The Book of Solutions, and Hong Sangsoo's In Our Day. The festival runs from May 17 to 26.

The 2023 Boston Marathon will feature a nonbinary division for the first time, with 27 runners registered. The Boston Athletic Association has been praised for its allyship in creating the division, which has been seen as a sanctuary amid a rise of anti-trans legislation. The initiative also called on the school to use gender-neutral language when referring to its student body in official communications. The college issued a statement acknowledging the result of the ballot initiative, which it stressed is non-binding.
