Navigating the Complex Dynamics of China's Military Threat in the Indo-Pacific
The top Army general in the Pacific, Gen. Charles Flynn, warned soldiers about the growing military threat posed by China and urged them to consider their preparedness for the next five to 10 years. Flynn highlighted China's aggressive actions, including building dams in Vietnam, forming islands in the South China Sea, engaging in predatory lending with smaller Pacific nations, and forming alliances with North Korea, Russia, and Pakistan. He emphasized the need for the Army to regain its capabilities in the Pacific region and highlighted efforts such as Operation Pacific Pathways and the expansion of the Joint Pacific Multinational Training Center. Flynn also expressed concerns about joint interior lines and the need to understand the adversary's capabilities.
