Nexus Mods has been acquired by a company called Chosen, co-founded by Victor Folmann and Marinus Elgaard, who have reassured the community that they do not plan to introduce paid mods or NFTs, and aim to support the platform's community-focused approach. The ownership change was initially kept vague, prompting community investigation.
Valve's Proton Experimental has been updated to include initial speech synthesis support and various game fixes for Steam Deck and Linux. The update also simplifies modding by allowing most mods to be extracted next to the game executable without additional steps. This change, along with previous updates like NVIDIA Optical Flow API support, enhances the gaming experience on Linux. Proton 9.0-4 is also in testing as the next stable version.
NVIDIA has released RTX Remix 0.4, an updated version of their software aimed at helping game modders remaster classic games for RTX/ray-tracing. This release includes an updated DXVK implementation, performance improvements, and various fixes addressing capture-related problems, geometry corruption, stability issues, and more. Additionally, there are enhancements for terrain baking, parallax occlusion mapping, anti-culling for in-game lights, and other improvements on the bridge side of RTX Remix.
