The US Men's U20 national team advanced to the knockout rounds of the U20 World Cup with a perfect group stage record, including a 2-0 win over Slovakia. Ecuador also advanced from the group after a 9-0 dismantling of Fiji, with 16-year-old Kendry Páez becoming the youngest-ever scorer in a men's U20 World Cup. Gaga Slonina helped secure the US team's clean sheet with multiple excellent saves.
