Approximately 300,000 Onewheel electric skateboards have been recalled after four deaths and numerous injuries were reported. The recall includes models that lack a haptic buzz alert, which warns riders when the board's limits are exceeded. The US Consumer and Product Safety Commission stated that the skateboards can stop balancing, posing a crash hazard that can result in serious injury or death. Future Motion, the manufacturer of Onewheel, received dozens of incident reports, including traumatic brain injuries, fractures, and paralysis.
