"X-59 Supersonic Test Jet: A Futuristic Marvel in Flight"
Lockheed Martin has released new photos of the X-59 Quiet Supersonic Technology aircraft, built by Skunk Works for NASA, showcasing its radical forward-vision system and its impressive design. The X-59 aims to achieve supersonic speeds over land without creating a sonic boom, potentially leading to changes in supersonic commercial aviation regulations. The pilot relies on the eXternal Vision System (XVS) and high-resolution cameras for visibility due to the elongated nose of the aircraft. Ground tests and noise testing will be conducted before the X-59 takes its first flight, followed by missions to assess community response to the aircraft's sound.
