Facial Redness May Signal Underlying Heart Issues, Experts Warn
A study presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress suggests that deep forehead wrinkles may indicate a higher risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality. Researchers found that individuals with more pronounced forehead wrinkles had a significantly higher risk of dying from CVD, potentially due to atherosclerosis. The study involved 3,200 healthy adults and found that those with higher wrinkle scores had up to ten times the risk of CVD-related death. While not a replacement for traditional risk assessments, forehead wrinkles could serve as an early, low-cost indicator of cardiovascular risk.
