Multiple Power Outages Impact Thousands in Tucson Area

More than 12,000 people are without power in Tucson, with the majority of outages occurring on the east side and in the Foothills, following a powerful storm that hit the area. The affected areas range from Fort Lowell and Swan North to East Skyline Drive in the Foothills, concentrated between Kolb and Camino Seco, 22nd to the south, and Speedway to the north. Smaller outages have also been reported east of Pantano and south of Golf Links, as well as at Speedway and Craycroft.

Northern California Braces for Cooler Temps and More Thunderstorms

Northern California will experience cooler temperatures in the Sacramento area with a few clouds, sprinkles, and a light breeze. There may be a few showers in the Valley early afternoon, but measurable rain will be hard to come by. Thunderstorm chances are best Monday in the coastal range, Foothills, and the Sierra. Temps will start to warm up mid-week and into the weekend. Thunderstorm chances begin to decrease over the Sierra by mid to late week.

Thunderstorms and Cooler Temperatures Expected in Northern California

Thunderstorms, lightning, and hail are expected in the Sierra and Foothills of Northern California on Tuesday, with heavy rainfall and gusty winds. The Valley will be cooler than Monday, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. The rest of the week will have temperatures in the 80s. There is a chance for showers and storms in the central and southern Sacramento Valley as well.
