Rising Dengue Cases Plague Indian Cities
Dengue cases in Bengaluru have not shown a significant decrease, with 10% to 20% of patients, including children and adults, requiring hospitalization. The primary focus of treatment is now fluid replacement, as fluid loss is the main cause of complications. ICU admissions are limited, and obese children are at a higher risk. The BBMP has implemented a schedule to carry out source reduction activities in all types of localities to combat the spread of dengue.
