Vindman kicks off Florida Senate bid with $1.7 million first-day haul
Alexander Vindman, the impeachment whistleblower and former NSC aide, launched a Democratic bid for Florida’s U.S. Senate and pulled in $1.7 million on day one, the largest first-day total for a Florida Senate candidate, from more than 36,000 donors (99% under $100). He seeks to unseat incumbent Ashley Moody, who was appointed by Gov. DeSantis. Moody has national opposition and endorsements, while the race faces Florida’s costly media markets and is viewed by analysts as Solid Republican.
