Employers that allow remote work or offer hybrid options experienced higher headcount growth compared to those mandating full-time office presence. The study also found that workers prefer the choice to work remotely and are less likely to be motivated when forced to return to the office. Companies with four-day office weeks saw a significant drop in headcount growth, while those with one to three office days experienced similar levels of growth. The researchers predict a shift towards hybrid models that better align with the needs of the workforce.
