The Deadly Consequences of Ignoring Skin Spots and Swelling
A man died of sepsis caused by a rare flesh-eating infection, Necrotising Fasciitis, after noticing a spot on his leg. Brett Dymond, 38, went to the hospital after experiencing hallucinations and swelling in his leg. He was initially laughing and joking with medical staff but his condition deteriorated quickly, and he suffered two cardiac arrests. Dymond's family was faced with the decision to amputate his limbs or turn off the machine, and they chose the latter. The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses.
